We finally got a couple of sunny windy days that dried the field up enough to give us the window we needed to finish our Nitrogen and Clover seeding in the winter wheat. We completed Friday afternoon. Thanks is due to the guys at Woodrill that made it happen with the rain in the forecast, and i might add no marks in the field is a huge bonus.
Saturday we got a good rain to put the nitrogen in the ground.
This timing was about perfect because the wheat had just started to green up a few days ago.
I’m very happy with the way the crop looks and we should be on pace for at least an average crop.
Hi Ryan;
Re: N on wheat, it will be interesting to see how well this wheat turns out compared to the fields with the earlier application of N several weeks ago.
Peter
I agree Peter that it will be interesting to see, unfortunately we don’t have a side by side comparison so it will be difficult to really say with certainty what the best result is in regards to Wheat yield. As for the success of the clover stand i think it is safe to make conclusion based on the stand post Wheat harvest.
Thanks for the feedback.
Ryan.
